EXECUTIVE Summary: CJM Leasing Corp. dba The Book Shelf, owned and operated by Cylinda J & Roger A Marshall, is located at: 901 Circle Drive, Euless, TX 76039, also on the internet www.thebookshelfonline.com , is going into business to sell books to targeted market segments, sell coffee, water, and some office supplies to building tenants. Lastly, we will sell and provide rare and out-of-print book searches to our clientele. This business plan provides a working structure to assure our best efforts toward a successful venture by providing reasonable expectations, guidelines and practices. Further, it demonstrates to our investors and supporters that the venture will be a viable business as well as a service to the public and special needs communities of Texas. MISSION Statement: The Book Shelf in Euless will provide low cost reading and resource materials supplemented by new and rare books to under served market niches of used, rare and special needs books. New books by selected authors will serve as a secondary niche. COMPANY Summary: CJM Leasing Corp. dba The Book Shelf is responding to a recruited market opportunity in North Texas. Used and Special Needs books are in significant demand as the population continues to grow rapidly. The business will be operated by Roger and Cylinda Marshall in conjunction with the Special Needs Assistance Program of North Texas and directly supported by Martha Kate Downey dba Books by MK. We will leverage our low cost position by collecting stock volumes from donors and private citizens and by aggressively managing imbedded and operational costs. COMPANY Ownership: The Book Shelf, CJM Leasing Corp. dba The Book Shelf, is licensed by the County of Tarrant and registered with the State of Texas for tax purposes. CJM Leasing, located in Keller, TX at 416-B Keller Parkway is owned and operated by Cylinda J Marshall, President and 60% share holder, and Roger A Marshall, Vice President and 40 % share holder. PRODUCTS & SERVICES: 1. Used books - we will differentiate ourselves by offering LOW COST used books due to our extremely low operating expenses and donated/virtual no cost inventory. 2. Special Needs Titles - we will be a central service point for the rapidly growing special needs community in North Texas and throughout Texas. Thru STEPS and other related and similar organizations, Martha Kate Downey, SNAP-NT and their author and social worker colleagues will give direct and indirect support providing state wide market access to this new outlet. 3. New Books - we will serve selected authors by stocking and marketing their new titles. We will provide new book ordering services upon request. 4. Rare Books - Leveraging the experience of David Downey, David Bennett and Lance Marshall, we will provide services for book collectors and individuals looking for specific rare titles and out of print books. MARKET Segments: One of our two primary target markets is focused on the groupings of the special needs community of Texas; Parenting, Social Workers/Organizations, Individual adults and children. The other primary target market is Used Books for students, children, family, adult interest. This niche will include a broad selection of genre, specifically including christian/religious, self help, fiction, non-fiction, technical and children's titles. Our secondary market segment - adults, professionals, and youth - will also be served by a selection of new books, titles and client interest authors. Some of these titles may include seconds obtained from publishers. Our tertiary market segment is collectors and serious readers who are looking for rare and out of print titles. These are expected to be low volume but high margin services. |
